People singing with me at the Temple ha!

I enjoy this shot simply because it represents my opportunity to sing with such a large group of people and to sing in the Temple as well. It was an amazing experience leading 1000 in song.
(P.S. I know you cant see me but I'm in the upper right area)
thanks to Wayne for the shot.

Praying for Amanda

This shot is not pretty, it does not offer a sense of technique or awe, but this shot is the most beautiful shot I have posted. This picture captures a community coming together for a person in need. One of our campers received some bad news and every single person gathered together to support this sensitive soul.

This is how life should be...
It should be human nature for us to hold up the wounded
and love the people in pain.
It should be human nature for us to be a community.

The Temple

People take advantage of this place. Ive noticed that some people forgot what a beautiful place they are freely walking around in. How much history and ground breaking moments people have experienced in this place. How many thousands of miles people have traveled to see the beauty that resides in this place. I love...this place
(this shot is from inside the sanctuary looking up to the top of the temple)

Rachael and Cody

I love this shot. they're expressions make me think they're nearly ready for the life ahead of them... or something poetic like that

Crowd at the Outreach night

Outreach did a get together right after a church service at I.Y.F. Matt Naylor spoke and did a great job. I really felt that they went beyond the fashion of helping a non-profit and set a tone for the mind-set of a giving person.

Heidi Being Prayed for

This was the same activity as 36/365 after you lift them up you bring them back down and pray for them.

Speech Choir in the Temple

So being the I.Y.F. band has its perks, including being able to take pictures from this view point. The first night I was up there I would watch the activities from this view and it seemed like every five seconds a beautiful shot would pass before my eyes. So the next day I brought my camera and captured this shot.

37/365

Cody a.k.a. "Smalls"

This picture expresses who smalls is so well. Ive only known this kid for a couple days and I can tell you he has such a rich and humbled soul about him.

36/365

Dustin getting held up by his peers

The Last day of I.Y.F. we did an activity called the prayer lift. Basically it is a very calming and moving way to express your burdens and let others help you through this struggle called life. I was playing background music the whole time so thanks to Kevin Williams for this shot

West Pony IYF Delegation

I.Y.F. can now be checked off the list of summer camps. I had the opportunity to lead about 1000 people through praise and song and I was a beautiful experience. The first night I sang my song, "I Am One", and I paused for an instrumental breakdown and the crowd kept singing the song without the band and I had to hold back from crying on stage. I was so overwhelmed with the acceptance of that crowd. Every staff and camper singing that song with their hearts intent was my favorite part of the week.

Cloud Formation in Indiapolis

On the way to Indep. The drive didn't feel that long and the conversations with the three other passengers were very nice. We all got to know the past and present life of the people in the van. It was great to find out about who Blake is on a deeper level. Emily has a awesome personality and some great views on life too so that was fun. Ashley was pretty much passed out the full 13 hours but she directed Reunion the week before so it was all good.

33/365

Brandon trying to keep his eyes open

This was during the last service at Temple Grove campgrounds. It was long but I enjoyed it. Many people got to share their thoughts and I'm always a fan of that. right after this service me and three other people got in a van and went on a 13 hour drive to Indep. MO.

Sr. High and Co.

What a great week it was. every kid engaged in the activities no matter how in depth or interactive they were. I could not have asked for a better start to this job.

31/365

Justin Mullens

This man holds a big heart and has alot of humor about him. Regardless of what we're doing he can make me laugh. He's in my area so I'm really excited to create some great things with him.

30/365

This is Ben.

This guy reminds me of me when I was in High School. A pretty deep thinker but always has that quick humor about him. I don't know how he ended up in those garments but when I saw him like this I knew I would regret it forever if I didn't get a shot of him.

29/365

Mackenzie Olson

This girl really opened up since two weeks ago. In my class she wasn't afraid to write and talk about the deep issues of her life, and in the full group setting she still shared her fullest of feelings. I'm really proud of this girl.

Hallway in the West Lodge at Temple Grove

Done with Reunion, It was a great time getting to know the parents of the kids Ive been hanging with for the past two weeks. They really do have a beautiful group of people in this area. I already can wait to be with this reunion group next year.

Patrick keeping watch for water balloons

If I was a king this man would be my Jester. He is one of the funniest guys I have ever met. He dropped me to my knees in laughter just by shooting a basketball in the most awkward way I have ever seen. He was also very real. When he spoke during serious moments people listened to this man with strong intent. Best of luck Patrick

26/365

Heidi Donae Myer

This lady made me laugh every day. She is one of the loopiest people I have every met. She is also willing to give her all in every activity we did. a good example being this photograph.

25/365

Kelsey, Me, and Christina on the deck

For a full day at camp we volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. During that day I got to know these girls really well. These two have phenomenal potential. I can't wait to see where they go in life.

24/365

Corleena Ann Marker

This Girl was so real with me, I taught a slam poetry class and from day one she just took off. everything on her heart flowed from her pen to the paper. I really appreciated her.

23/365

The war that is Cardboard Derby

2nd week done! Sr. High camp was absolutely amazing, I felt like I had such a positive influence on the kids and I feel like the two other youth ministers and I really shifted that atmosphere of this camp. God I can't wait to see these kids again.
This picture is from a game that we did, we had the kids divide up in teams to make a cardboard derby car then we just had them go at it with water and force.

Cloud formation during campfire.

Once again this picture does not capture what was seen. This was the most beautiful cloud formation I have ever seen. My fellow councilor has lived here all his life and he's never seen anything like it.

21/365

The Polar Bear club

In Junior camp its tradition to wake up really early one day and go swimming. I love this photo because it seems so old school, like a bunch of kids from the 60's or something. Plus that look that angelo is giving me is just classic (he's the third from the right)

20/365

Steven hiding from the rain

I really connected with this kid, he's from my area so I kinda knew the background of the tough life he has had to live at such a young age, but it seems that a child's happiness can always break barriers because throughout the week he brightened with every giggle.

19/365

The Boys Catching a Fish

The kids really enjoyed fishing. Even though letting kids have there way with fish had to be on the border of fish cruelty. Temple Grove has a lake with many fish, which gives the kids a pretty good chance at catching some.

18/365

Payton Thinking really hard

This kid, this kid was my joy. his innocence and happiness just brightened my day time and time again. One instance being- I was telling this kid named Angelo that he is awesome, and Payton overheard my words and ran over with an overwhelming excitement asking, am I awesome? it was as if his whole life lied on my answer. I said, I think your the awesomest dude!

17/365

Chuck teaching morning devotions

This guy was such a funny dude, he's really down to earth and just knows how to make any personality laugh. good man.

16/365

Steve Ross Working on Journals

This was just a great capture of a councilor helping a camper. This man was hilarious by the way. He did a boat racing class with a competition at the end and the the winner got to stand on some boxes, Olympic style, and receive medals while the Canadian and American national anthem was playing.

15/365

Early morning at Temple Grove

The first morning I woke up at 6am and I looked out on to a site that I have never seen. The picture doesn't do it justice but here is a glimps at what I saw.

14/365

My First Jr. Camp

I'm Back!...for a day ha! I just got done with jr camp and it was really fun, these kids were amazing and by the second day the eleven year old girls were crushing like crazy and all the boys thought I was cool. I also quickly became human monkey bars for the week. Integrating myself into this camp was nothing. tomorrow I go back to Temple Grove for senior high camp.
